Tor Olav Trøim’s 2020 Bulkers has declared options at China’s New Times Shipyard for a pair of newcastlemax dry bulk vessels.
2020 is paying around $44.7m for the pair, which are scheduled for delivery in December 2019 and January 2020.
The company has also announced a private placement of 1,150,000 new shares to raise $5m for the initial deposit on the ships.
Founded in October, 2020 Bulkers now has four newcastlemaxes under construction at New Times and holds options for four more. Its first delivery is scheduled for September 2019.
