MOL and Asahi Tanker form MR pool

Japanese shipping major Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) has formed an MR tanker pool with compatriot Asahi Tanker. Asahi MOL Tankers will own a fleet of about 25 vessels and allocate them mainly to Asia and Oceania from three bases: Tokyo, Singapore, and London. The pool starts operation today.

“The pool operation allows Asahi MOL Tankers to offer efficient, reliable, high-quality ocean transport services with the flexibility to meet diverse customer needs,” MOL stated in a release.
