Maersk Drilling awarded jackup contract and drillship extensions

Maersk Drilling has revealed a new contract for one of its jackup rigs and extensions for a pair of drillships in its latest fleet status report.

2009-built jackup rig Maersk Resolve has been awarded a 180-day contract, with three one-month options, by Wintershall Noordzee in the Netherlands. The contract is scheduled to commence on September 1.

Additionally, drillship pair Maersk Voyager and Maersk Viking have both been given extra work in Ghana. Eni has exercised a 35-day option on Maersk Voyager and Aker Energy has exercised two options, at 41 days and 49 days, on Maersk Viking.
