Hapag-Lloyd shuffles fleet to handle broken down ship

Hapag-Lloyd has dispatched the 1,700 teu Nordviolet to Venice to take over shipments on the line’s Adria Express (ADX).

The ship will dock at the Italian port today and take over from the 2,700 teu Stadt Dresden, which has suffered main engine failure while docking. The bigger ship will now need to head for repairs and its boxes have been unloaded at Venice. The Nordviolet will take onward boxes to Damietta on the ADX service while Hapag-Lloyd is still trying to work out a solution to get cargoes moved to Piraeus on the same service.
