TMS Cardiff Gas confirms LNG carrier orders for Shell charters

TMS Cardiff Gas has announced the signing of contracts with Hyundai Heavy Industries and Samsung Heavy Industries for the construction of four 174,000 cu m LNG carriers.

The vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2020 and 2021, and will go straight into time charter contracts with Shell.

Christos Economou, founder of TMS Cardiff Gas, commented: “We are delighted to have agreed the charter of four new X Carrier Series of LNG ships to Shell. Shell is a very important customer in our expanding LNG shipping business. We look forward to providing them with first class LNG shipping services.”

Shell is also said to have also awarded two further time charter contracts for LNG newbuilds to Russia’s Sovcomflot.
