Diana Shipping fixes capesize to SwissMarine at higher rate

Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has sealed a new charter contract with SwissMarine Services for 2014-built capesize vessel G. P. Zafirakis.

The charter commences on January 2, and is for a period of 17 to 20 months at rate of $17,000 per day. The vessel has been on charter to Germany’s RWE Supply & Trading at $15,000 per day.

Diana Shipping says the charter will generate around $8.67m based on the minimum time charter period.
