Ensco secures series of new contracts and extensions

UK-headquartered offshore driller Ensco has been awarded a series of new contracts and extensions according to the company’s latest fleet status report.

The company’s drillship Ensco DS-10 was awarded a one-year contract extention by Shell offshore Nigeria that will keep the rig under contract through March 2020, with a further four one-year options remaining.

In the meantime, jackup rig Ensco 123 was awarded its first contracts by Premier Oil in the North Sea for campaigns comprising a minimum of six wells.

Premier Oil also awarded a one-well contract to jackup rig Ensco 100 in the North Sea that is expected to commence in March 2020.

Additionally, jackup rig ENSCO 76‘s contract with Saudi Aramco offshore Saudi Arabia extended by four years to December 2022 and jackup rig ENSCO 67 contract with Pertamina offshore Indonesia extended by 500 days to May 2020, while ENSCO 102 secured a one-well contract with Renaissance in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico that is expected to commence in April 2019.
