Jeil takes Seatrans chemical tanker

Steadily growing Jeil International from South Korea has added its seventh ship, opting for an older stainless steel chemical tanker. The 11,900 dwt Trans Borg has cost Jeil just under $6m, brokers tell Splash.

The ship is the seventh aging chemical tanker the Jung Hui Chul-led company has added since it started buying ships some four years ago, focusing on similar tankers in the 10,000 to 20,000 dwt range. The seller of Trans Borg is diversified Norwegian owner, Seatrans.
