Accident at China Shipping Industry yard, one dead

Eight workers at China Shipping Industry’s Shanghai yard at Changxing Island fell off a vessel yesterday evening while they were building a scaffold around it and the scaffold suddenly collapsed.

One worker died on the way to hospital, one is in serious condition and the remaining six suffered injuries.

China Shipping Industry is a subsidiary yard of China Shipping Group, providing both shipbuilding and ship repair services.
