Aframax detained in Philadelphia pending civil dispute

A tanker chartered by Royal Dutch Shell is being detained by the US Marshalls Service over civil litigation about money owed, according to Reuters.

The marshalls say that the  Advantage Avenue (115,785 dwt, built 2010), a Malta-flagged aframax will be held after unloading its cargo at the Monroe Energy refinery outside Philadelphia.

The detention will last until a civil dispute brought by Marshall Islands-registered PSARA Energy against multiple defendants is resolved. PSARA Energy brought the order in federal court in Pennsylvania.

Shell says it is not one of the defendants in that case. The ship is listed on Equasis as owned by Swiss-based Advantage Tankers.
