Norwegian oilfield services company Aker Solutions has been awarded a contract with Brazil’s state oil firm Petrobras to provide maintenance and modifications services for three offshore oil and gas fields in the Campos Basin off the northern coast of Rio de Janeiro.
The contract, valued at around $100 million, is for four years with an option to extend by one year.
It covers renovation, repair and upgrade work on the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) platforms at the Barracuda, Caratiga and Albacora Leste fields.
Aker Solutions will work from a Brazilian firm in which it has a majority stake, CSE Mecanica e Instrumentacao Ltd of Macae in Rio.
Work under the contract begins in March and runs to early 2022.
