Kuala Lumpur: Alam Maritim Resources, via a subsidiary of Deepsea Leader Venture, has acquired offshore support vessel OLV Venture 1 (6,000bhp, built 2014) for $60m.
Deepsea Leader Venture is a jv set up in January by Alam and Singapore’s Vallianz, and the vessel is the first acquired under the jv.
Alam said the OSV was bought from Wellspring Marine Trading, and it is currently registered in China. Completion of the acquisition is expected by mid-April, and then the vessel will be flagged in Malaysia to operate in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
