Almi Marine takes first supra of the year

Brokers report that supramax specialist Almi Marine has dived into the secondhand market, fixing its first deal of the year.

The Greek outfit is linked to a $13.5m deal for the five year old, Mitsui-built 55,700 dwt Ingwar Selmer, a price that is line with what online platform VesselsValue.com sets the market price for the ship at.

The new ship will the eighth supramax in the fleet list of the Athens-based bulker player, whose focus is only on this vessel type.

The sale is the first sale reported by the seller Oskar Wehr KG which now has 20 ships in its fleet list, consisting of an equal mix of bulker and container ships.
