Ama Marine adds another chemical tanker

Thai owner AMA Marine is moving ahead with its fleet expansion plans adding its first ship of the year.

Last year, the Bangkok-listed company made headlines in the chemical tanker sector adding four Japanese-built 13,000 dwt ships from separate owners , all ships in the same age range and same size as the 2008-built Team Houston, that sources say that it has just paid $8.7m for.

The active tanker owner is focusing on ships from 2,800 dwt to 13,000 dwt to carry mostly palm oil for its growing list of clients.

Online portal VesselsValue shows the Thai player has grown its fleet to ten ships.
