Taipei: U-Ming Marine Transport said in a regulatory filing on Friday that it has bought a 98,000 dwt bulker newbuilding from Glocal Maritime, a Hong Kong-based affiliate of Glocal Japan, for $24.5m. The ship is being built at Tsuneishi’s Zhoushan yard. U-Ming has made clear it is looking to snap up bargain bulkers in the downturn. [22/10/12]
