APL crowned Asia’s most reliable boxline

Singapore: SeaIntel’s ceo Lars Jensen has provided details of how Singapore’s APL has been crowned Asia’s most reliable containerline. The Danish analyst’s recently released container line schedule reliability report for 2012 showed APL in third place in the world, behind Maersk and Hamburg Sud, scoring just over 85% in SeaIntel’s reliability index.

“APL is indeed the most reliable Asian carrier,” Jensen confirmed to SeaShip News. “When we look at the carriers' reliability development for each month in 2012,” he explained, “clearly all carriers show some variation in performance. APL is the carrier – out of the top 20carriers – with the lowest degree of variation in 2012 – in other words, APL is the carrier who provided the most stable performance throughout 2012, i.e. their customers were the most likely to experience the same service level month after month.”

SeaIntel’s analysis is based on 10,000 monthly arrivals in more than 200 ports globally.  [13/02/13]
