APM Terminals exits from Tacoma

APM Terminals has ended its operations at Tacoma and transferred the lease, which expires at the end of this year, to Seattle-based SSA Marine who are forming a joint venture with Matson called SSAT to operate the terminal.

Wim Lagaay, head of USA and Europe portfolio at APM Terminals, commented: “We are proud of the service we have been able to provide to our customers, the Port of Tacoma and the Seaport Alliance, and the Safety performance recognition consistently received by the Pacific Maritime Association.”

APM Terminals said its Tacoma terminal was used primarily by the Matson Alaska Service.
