Dubai: Arcadis, an engineering and consultancy firm, has won a contract with Aqaba Development Corporation in Jordan to provide construction management services and design reviews for the Aqaba New Port project. Arcadis is working in a joint venture with local company Dar Al Handasah. Financials details were not disclosed.
Once the New Port has opened, it will incorporate a general cargo and roro terminal, as well as grain and ferry terminals. The project is being implemented in four different construction contracts, of which three have commenced. The New Aqaba Port is scheduled to be in operation in 2014. [21/03/13]
