Atwood Oceanics gets Thai jackup extension

Houston-headquartered Atwood Oceanics has been given a nine-month extension by Mubadala Petroleum for the use of jackup, Atwood Orca.

The extension is effective from November 1, and includes a rate adjustment to a day rate of approximately $85,000.

The jackup has been with Mubadala, working offshore Thailand, since April 2013 and the extension will keep the rig with the Abu Dhabi-based company until October 29, 2016.
