Avin adds another elderly tanker

Greek vintage tanker specialist Avin International continues its hunt for tonnage.

Brokers say it has snapped up the 159,000 dwt Gener8 Spyridon for $13.8m from New York-listed Gener8 Maritime who has sold a total of three older tankers so far this month.

Avin has been actively scouting for tankers for its diverse fleet. In October Avin took the Namura Shipbuilding-constructed, 105,000 dwt Lion City River for $20.5m. This tanker has changed name to Kriti Samaria. The company has over 30 tankers plus some bulk tonnage.
