Bangladesh Shipping Corporation in negotiations for eight more Chinese ships

Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC) is in negotiations with Chinese lenders for an eight-ship order.

BSC already has three bulk carriers and three product tankers on order in China for delivery from the middle of next year with funds made available from China’s Exim Bank.

The new orders are likely to be placed at BSC’s favoured Chinese yard, Yangzijiang.

Founded in 1972, BSC’s fleet today numbers 13 ships with an average age of around 20 years.
