Bangladeshi ship hits reef off Vietnam
Hanoi: Vietnamese authorities are fighting to contain a 400-ton oil spill from a Bangladeshi ship that hit a coral reef off the centre of the country on Friday.
The Bright Royal hit a reef off Quang Ngai province and local reports suggest the ship risks sinking.
Rough weather is hampering efforts to contain the spill, which is now extending more than 1 km from the stricken vessel.
The crew of the Panama-registered ship may be evacuated tomorrow. [07/10/13]
