Bertram Rickmers takes feedermax options at Mawei Shipbuilding

Bertram Rickmers’ privately owned Asian Spirit Steamship has executed an option for the contruction of two 1,162 teu feeder containerships at China’s Mawei Shipbuilding.

Asian Spirit Steamship originally placed an order for two firm 1,162 teu boxships with options at the shipyard in November 2017.

Rickmers has working to rebuild his fleet after Rickmers Holding went bankrupt in June 2017, with the entire fleet of the company as well as its ship management arm sold off.
