BlueMountain Capital buys up Scorpio Bulkers shares

Monaco: BlueMountain Capital has bought even more shares in Scorpio Bulkers, increasing its stake to 12.1m shares, a US SEC filing said.

In September, the New York-headquartered investment firm held 9.92m shares, which at that time was equivalent to a 7.2% stake in the bulker owner.

Since then, more Scorpio Bulkers shares have been released into the market, which now puts BlueMountain’s stake at 6.7%.

Shares in the Monaco-based shipowner were today trading at $2.09 per share, making BlueMountain’s acquisition of 2.81m shares worth around $4.56m, and its total holding worth some $25.3m.
