Boskalis wins Duqm terminal contract

Royal Boskalis Westminster has been awarded an LOI from the port of Duqm in Oman for the engineering, design, procurement and construction of a bulk liquid berth terminal.

The contract with the Special Economic Zone Authority Duqm is worth around €480m ($510.2m).

Work scope includes the deepening of the port basin to a depth of 18 metres, reclamation new land, the construction of a quay wall with a length of 1km, a double berth jetty island and stone revetment.

Design work will begin imminently, with equipment expected to be mobilised by mid-2017. The dredging scope will be executed by newbuild mega cutter Helios, and the project is expected to be completed in 2020.
