British owners head to China for bulkers

A pair of British owners have gone to China in bulker buying mode.

Brokers report that family owned Hadley Shipping has placed an order at Yangzijiang Shipbuilding for a pair of 82,000 dwt kamsarmaxes. Both vessels have Tier II specifications and were committed at $26.25m with delivery due next year.

Meanwhile, another British owner, Graig Shipping, is reported via numerous broking outlets as signing a deal with Wuhu Shipyard for four 63,000 dwt ultramaxes. The quartet are costing $25m each and come with delivery dates in the first half of 2020.
