BW LPG announces Ackermann as new CEO

Singapore: BW LPG has unveiled its new ceo, Martin Ackermann, currently the ceo of gas ship operator Evergas.

Ackermann has been ceo of Evergas since 2008, and has previously worked with Sigas Kosan, Lauritzen Kosan and J. Lauritzen.

Current BW LPG ceo, Nicholas Gleeson, will return to his previous position as BW Group cfo once Ackermann begins in the new role. BW didn’t say exactly when that would be, just that he would commence the role once his contractual commitments have been finalised.

Andreas Sohmen-Pao, BW Group chairman, commented on the appointment: “We are very grateful to Nick for his sterling efforts taking BW LPG to the stock market and in the period thereafter, and are pleased to have his continued contributions as CFO of BW Group. We are delighted to be welcoming Martin as CEO of BW LPG. As the world’s largest LPG shipping company, we look forward to his leadership in developing the company’s strong platform of assets and capabilities”.
