BW Pacific orders up to eight LR2s at Daehan

BW Pacific has placed an order for LR2 tankers at South Korea’s Daehan Shipbuilding.

The Singapore joint venture between BW Group and private equity firm PAG has opted for six firm 115,000 dwt ships plus two options. No price has been revealed for the ships, which will start to deliver from 2019 onwards.

“I can confirm the order,” BW Pacific’s CEO Tina Revsbech told Splash today.

BW Pacific currently operates 21 LR1 tankers and 22 MR tankers.
