Cairn India seeks drilling contractors for projects in offshore India

Cairn India is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from contractors to provide jack-up drilling rigs and other services to its oilfields in offshore India.

The EOIs have been requested for work at Cairn’s CB-OS/2 oilfied in the Gulf of Khambhat, northwest India; and at the RAVVA, KG-OSN-2009/3 and PR-OSN-2004/1 fields, off the country’s east coast. Drilling in these blocks is scheduled for 2016 and 2017.

Cairn seeks an independent leg jack-up drilling unit with up to 20,000-foot drilling capacity for the CB-OS/2 block.

For RAVVA, the company is looking for mat-supported drilling units, able to drill in water depths of up to 250 feet.

The same units are required for the KG-OSN-2009/3 and PR-OSN-2004/1 fields, or alternatively independent leg jack-up drilling unit able to drill at the same water depth.
