Canada’s TSB investigates man’s disappearance from cargo ship in Quebec

Canada’s Transportation Safety Board (TSB) is investigating the apparent disappearance of a crewman from a Dutch cargo ship in Quebec.

The man went missing from the 2007-built  Amazoneborg at the Port of Trois-Rivieres on Friday.

Searches were conducted by Canadian Coast Guard and Quebec’s provincial police the Surete du Quebec but were suspended on Sunday.

TSB is an independent agency that investigates marine incidents for the purpose of advancing safety, not for determining civil or criminal liability.

Amazoneborg, which is owned by Dutch firm Royal Wagenborg, departed Trois-Rivieres for Pori in Finland with a cargo of nickel.
