China boosts Nepal trade infrastructure

Beijing: Yesterday saw the foundation stone laid for an inland container depot (ICD) at the Nepali city of Larcha, near the border with China. The ICD is being funded by China and will also see an upgrading of a 6.5 km road connecting the dry port to the border.
The $13.8m project, which is expected to be completed in 26 months, will also see the construction of a 112 m long bridge over the Bhotekoshi River, which intersects the Arniko Highway connecting the border to Nepali capital Kathmandu.  [21/12/12]
