China Cosco Shipping Group appoints container shipping head

China Cosco Shipping Group, the new shipping conglomerate created by the merger of Cosco Group and China Shipping Group, has appointed Wang Haimin as the general manager of the group’s container shipping department.

Wang, 43, used to serve as vice general manager of Cosco Holdings and Cosco Pacific, and vice managing director of Cosco Container Lines.

Former general manager of China Shipping Container Lines, Zhao Hongzhou, has resigned from the group.

Cosco Group and China Shipping Group officially merged into China Cosco Shipping Group on January 4, with Xu Lirong appointed as the chairman.
