Chinese tanker at Basuo Port explodes again

A second explosion has hit Chinese oil tanker Feng Sheng You 8 yesterday at Basuo Port in Hainan, following an initial explosion onboard the vessel on October 20.

The explosion last week caused the death of one crew member while another is still missing. No casualties were reported from the second explosion.

The local environment department is monitoring for possible pollution caused by the incident.

Residents near the port industrial zone have been evacuated and firefighting work continues.
