CMA CGM and Seatrade launch reefer cooperation

French shipping line CMA CGM has announced collaboration with reefer transport specialist Seatrade Group to create a new vessel shareing agreement incorporating the services known by CMA CGM as Pad and by Seatrade as Meridian.

This unique service will link Northern Europe, the East Coast of the United States, Central America, the Pacific Islands, Australia, New Zealand, Peru and the Caribbean on a weekly basis.

CMA CGM said the new service brings together CMA CGM, Seatrade and Marfret and improves their frequency and port coverage.

The three companies will deploy a total of 13 vessels with capacity between 2200 and 2500 teu on the new line. CMA CGM and Seatrade will each offer six vessels and Marfret will offer the remaining one vessel. Each vessel will have minimum 600 reefers on board.

The service is scheduled to commence in October.
