CNPC appoints new head

Beijing: China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has appointed Wang Dongjin as the new president of the company yesterday. Zhou Jiping ceased to hold the position of president from the same day and keeps the position of chairman of the board.

Wang Dongjin, aged 51, has been working in China’s oil and gas industry for over 30 years. His previous positions include deputy director of Jiangsu Oil Exploration Bureau, general manager of CNPC International (Kazakhstan), general manager of China National Oil & Gas Exploration and Development Corporation and director of CNPC.
