Cochin Shipyard takes over Mumbai repair facilities

Cochin Shipyard has signed an MoU with Mumbai Port Trust to manage and operate the port’s ship repair facilities.

As part of the plans, expansion is on the cards with a new floating dry dock likely plus the expansion of an existing dry dock to ensure the site becomes the largest repair site on the west coast of India.

Cochin Shipyard has recently unveiled plans to try and expand its services across India. With volumes at India’s largest port growing rapidly, larger and more sophisticated repair facilities have been earmarked by the nation’s shipping ministry for some time.
