ConocoPhillips extends Maersk Drilling jackup

Copenhagen: Maersk Drilling has announced that ConocoPhillips Norway has signed a contract extension for the jackup rig Maersk Innovator (built 2002) for work on the Eldfisk field, offshore Norway.

The new contract, valued at around $142m, is for a period of 16 months and begins when the current contract expires in February 2017.

“We are very pleased to see the Maersk Innovator continue to work for ConocoPhillips,” commented Claus Hemmingsen, CEO of Maersk Drilling.

Maersk Innovator has been working for ConocoPhillips since 2010 and with the new deal will remain until at least June 2018.
