Container reachstacker on fire in Southampton

Athens: Fire crews tackled a “major” blaze that started from a container reachstacker at a yard near the Southampton Docks, UK.

It took firefighters over half an hour to extinguish the fire, which local press reports say completely incinerated the vehicle.

Pentalver, which owns the storage depot at the port’s western docks, said there were no injuries and only the reachstacker was damaged by the fire.

An ABP spokesman said that normal operations have since resumed.
