Containers blown off multi-purpose vessel near Shanghai

Around 30 containers were blown off multi-purpose vessel Peng An Sheng near Shanghai on Saturday.

The vessel, operated by Fujian Hongan Shipping, was transporting over 400 containers from Yantai to Shanghai when the incident happened.

Shanghai Maritime Salvage Center deployed four salvage vessels to collect the containers from the water and local maritime safety administration also notified nearby vessels to navigate with caution near the incident.

According to Shanghai Maritime Salvage Center, the cargoes inside the containers are mostly automobile parts and no hazardous cargo is contained in the containers.
