Copenship closes

Oslo: Dry cargo is painful for many at the moment but for Denmark’s Copenship it has proven unbearable which has become the latest shipping firm to close down amid the protracted downturn.

The company has suffered large losses inflicted by competitors and has several pending insurance cases.

Copenship, which almost made it to its fortieth birthday has a similar number of employees who now will have to look for work elsewhere. The company has at least 50 chartered vessels worldwide.
