COSCO Nantong bags two supramaxes

Shanghai: COSCO Nantong has signed a contract with Jiangsu Ocean Shipping to construct two 61000 dwt bulkers. The two vessels are expected to be delivered in the first half of 2014.

Jiangsu Ocean Shipping (JOSCO) said the two bulkers will be the largest vessels in the company’s fleet; low price and eco-design are the two main reasons that facilitate the signing of the contract.

JOSCO is controlled by Jiangsu Transport Holding Company and it currently operates a fleet of 19 vessels with total capacity of more than 400,000dwt.  [07/01/13]
