Cosco Shipping Energy orders two VLCCs at DACKS

Cosco Shipping Energy Transportation, the tanker unit of China Cosco Shipping Corporation, has placed an order at Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering (DACKS) for the construction of two 308,000 dwt VLCCs.

The total value of the contract is $160m and deliveries are scheduled in August 2020 and January 2021.

The latest contract is part of Cosco Shipping Energy’s major fleet expansion and follows the company ordering seven tankers at CSSC-affiliated Guangzhou Shipyard International in December and four VLCCs and three suezmax tankers at DSIC in November.
