COSL files lawsuit in Norway

Beijing: China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL) announced yesterday that COSL Offshore Management, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, has initiated claims at Stavanger District Court in Norway against Statoil Petroleum.

COSL has asked Statoil to pay standby fees of NKR310m and $97m in total for installation of third party equipment at the drilling platforms COSL Innovator and COSL Promoter.

COSL said currently the two drilling platforms are still providing normal operational services to Statoil. [15/10/13]
