COSL secures North Sea semi-submersible rig contract

China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL) has secured a contract for semi-submersible drilling rig COSL Innovator from a new client operating in the Norwegian North Sea.

The contract is for one well with an option of eight additional wells with operations expected to commence in the first quarter of 2018. According to broking sources, the client is Norway’s Lundin Petroleum.

COSL said the new contract lays a solid foundation for the company’s business development in the Nordic market.
