CSIC head of discipline being investigated for corruption

China’s State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) has announced that it has started investigations into the activities of Liu Changhong, head of discipline of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), for alleged serious violations of discipline.

Liu used to serve at SASAC and joined CSIC in 2011 as head of discipline and was responsible for investigating a series of corruption cases within the group over the past few years.

The anti-corruption sweep led by the president Xi Jinping, has taken down a large number of corrupted officials in state-run companies, including many in the shipping and shipbuilding industry.
