D’Amico Tankers timecharters three product tanker newbuildings

London: D’Amico Tankers Limited (Ireland) has sealed three-year timecharters for three of its MR product tanker newbuildings, which have been fixed to an unnamed oil major.

Two of the eco-ships, all of which are still under construction, have been fixed at $16,650 per day; the third was fixed at $16,850 daily.

The firm’s Italy-based parent company D’Amico International Shipping estimates that the deals will generate combined revenue of more than $52m over the next three years.

The charterer is “one of the largest oil companies in the world”, the company said today.

D’Amico’s newbuilding programme consists of 16 new MR tankers, of which 12 have already secured long-term timecharter employment. So far, eight vessels have been delivered.
