Dandong adds more intermodal links

Dalian: Dandong port in Liaoning province has launched an intermodal rail service to Yanji in Jinlin Province this week.

As a gateway port to Korea and Japan, Dandong port has seen increasing demand for container cargo transfer service this year. Until now the port had launched intermodal rail container services connecting Harbin, Kiamusze and Baoquan Ling by taking advantages of the recently commenced rail line in the eastern part of Northeast China's Liaoning province.

Dandong port has achieved a port throughput of 60.2m tons for the first eight months this year, and currently a 200,000 ton iron ore berth is also under construction and due for completion by the end of 2013. [01/11/12]
