Deep Down seals $3m contract for Gulf of Mexico projects

Houston-based oilfield services company Deep Down has secured a contract worth $3m for work in the Gulf of Mexico.

It will provide flying leads and umbilical accessories for two unnamed operators in the Gulf.

Subsea umbilicals are cables that provide control, energy and chemicals to oil and gas wells, subsea manifolds and remote control systems.

Flying leads are flexible hydraulic hoses connected to control systems in a subsea tree.

The equipment should be delivered and deployed in the first half of 2017.

Deep Down specializes in deep-water and ultra-deep water oil production system support services and products used between the platform and the wellhead.
