DFDS enhances fleet with twin order at Jinling Shipyard

Danish outfit DFDS is enhancing its fleet with the addition of two newbuild ro-ro freight ships ordered at China’s Jinling Shipyard.

The order is part of a renewal programme, with the two vessels expected to be delivered early in 2019. Both vessels will be deployed in the North Sea, and will cost DFDS around DKK 1bn ($150m) in total. DFDS also has options for a further four vessels from the yard.

The vessels are designed to carry 6,700 lane metres of freight equivalent to around 450 trailers.
