DHT Tankers offloads suezmax

Norwegian tanker specialist DHT Tankers has sold off it last remaining suezmax vessel, 2001-built DHT Target, during the month of April for $22.5m.

The sale is part of the company’s fleet renewal programme which has also seen it take delivery of three VLCCs in the last six month. Additionally, another three newbuild VLCCs are expected for delivery in the next six months.

DHT said that an impairment charge of $8.1m was incurred as part of the transaction. Net proceeds from the sale will be used to repay debt under a $22.3m RBS facility.

DHT now has a fleet consisting of 17 VLCCs and two aframaxes.
